Monster Hunter : World reached a new milestone reaching the ladder end of phenomenal success. Capcom announced that the fantasy-themed-action rpg shipped 7.9 million units worldwide as of 31st March, making it the best selling title in the company history.
The sales figure were announced as the part of company's financial report presented for the fiscal year 2017. According to the report, The Monster Hunter: World, which was released on January 26, 2018, has shipped 7.9 million copies across PS4 and Xbox One in around two months, settling the Capcom's overall net revenue to ¥94.5 billion (up 8.4 percent), with operating income coming in at ¥16 billion (up 17.5 percent).
With this huge recorder success, The Monster Hunter: World now hold a strong position amongst the list of games which include various Street Fighter and Resident Evil titles. Capcom also shed a light on its future plans which includes, strengthening digital download sales and investing in esports market.
